Summer time is for smoothies

Summer is a season where people head down the shore, plan weekend getaways, and get their tan on. It’s a time where you grab yourself a beverage, preferably a smoothie drink loaded with vitamins and minerals to keep you hydrated. My favorite smoothies include strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and spinach. I try to go with whatever my body is craving.

Oh…I Like It Raw

Oh…I Like It Raw

raw-vegetables

Raw veggies are full of nutrients and once we cook the veggies, they often lose a lot of their nutrition value.  Think about it, is it healthier to eat processed foods that come in a box or fresh foods that you can pick yourself? Well the answer is anything in its “raw” state is actually healthier for you because it essentially is giving you the full nutrition value that we tend to lose once we cook them. Yes, they do taste better sauteed or cooked in a lasagna dish, but think about the process it goes through to get through that state. It is heated, flavored, and once you eat it then it has little to no nutrition value. It’s important to have balance in any diet. A healthy combination of both raw and cooked veggies will help you to stay healthy.

As Raw Foods Diet states, raw foods “are loaded with nutrients for building strong healthy bodies and minds. They continue to say that “leafy green plants in particular are loaded with minerals and help alkalize the system. Leafy green vegetables are great blood builders, and when you build healthy blood you build a healthy body. For long term success on a raw food diet it is very important to include a variety of leafy green vegetables in your daily diet.” You can juice with raw fruits and vegetables, or blend them into your soups. Each veggie has their own natural remedy and can help cure (not approved by FDA) certain diseases.

Coconut Greens is a great way to get your daily servings of veggies. It’s perfect for a green smoothie and helps you to stay energized all day wrong. You get 8-10 servings of greens per scoop including kale, alfalfa, apple, broccoli, spinach, and other veggies. “Blended green soups or smoothies are another good way to aid digestion of these high fiber foods. The blending mechanically “predigests” the fiber and makes it easier on your system to digest and pass.” http://www.raw-foods-diet-center.com/list-of-vegetables.html

Why not be good to yourself? You can have your veggies and drink them too! A healthy combination of both raw and cooked veggies will help you to stay healthy in the long run.

Healthy U, Go Green For An Energetic U!

You need to get an adequate amount of greens in your healthy lifestyle in order to stay energized all day long. You may now know that each veggie contains essential vitamins that contribute to your overall energy levels. Well now, you can easily drink your way to “supergreen” energy with a scoop of Coconut Greens. One scoop of Coconut Greens has 8-10 servings of veggies, which contain high levels of nutrients and antioxidants, and better yet you can even get your daily dose of vitamins.
thKale and Broccoli are two significant green vegetables. If you never seen kale, it’s a dark leafy green that is full of vitamins. And we all heard of broccoli, the vegetable that looks like a miniature tree, which is loaded with Vitamin B.  “Research has clearly shown that B vitamins, like vitamin B6, vitamin B12, folic acid, thiamine and niacin support the energy metabolism process,” says Andrew Shao, PhD, from The Council for Responsible Nutrition.
kale-broccKale is a popular superfood that is extremely high in fiber. With significant amounts of protein and fiber, kale’s main vitamin components are A, C, K, B-6, C, E, magnesium, calcium, and potassium. Did you know kale has the highest amount of Vitamin K per serving? It’s naturally occurring in most dark leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, and parsley. Broccoli has a great source of vitamins including B1, B2, B3, B6, C, K, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. It also has a high level of fiber to help promote digestion. The vitamins work together to offer an increased level of energy.

Eating broccoli and kale will help the body to create more energy and give you a boost of essential vitamins as well. Iron contributes to increasing your energy levels by sending oxygen to your bloodstream. The most essential vitamin that promotes an increased energy level is the B vitamins; it creates energy flow throughout your body. Iron is another important mineral that helps your blood cells to support each other with increased levels of energy.

Did you know “Broccoli belongs to the cruciferous vegetable family, which includes kale, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, bok choy, cabbage, collard greens, rutabaga and turnips. These nutrition powerhouses supply loads of nutrients for little calories. Broccoli and kale create energy from absorbing the essential vitamins into your body. Get your energy levels up and go green! Each vitamin has a particular purpose and helps you stay energized all day long. And you can get it all in one single scoop of Coconut Greens. When you look at the total nutrition profile of just one scoop of Coconut Greens it would be eating nearly2 pounds or 1 kilogram of broccoli. That’s a lot of munching! How easy is it not to get your equivalent nutritional benefits by just adding one scoop of Coconut Greens to your glass of water and the taste will surprise you too!
